Students create a beautiful poster that illustrates how they have spent their life using proportional reasoning. In the process they convert hours per day into years of their lives. Then they convert these ratios to degrees to make a circle graph, and finally they use proportions to label each sector in percentages. Measurement is also a key component of this project that accesses the diverse learning styles of our students and serves as both a formative and summative assessment of proportional reasoning concepts.
